Labtech performed well during the quarter, both organically and with a clear contribution from acquisitions. Within diagnostics, demand remained stable and strong, particularly in blood gas analysis, pathology, point-of-care testing, molecular diagnostics, automation, service and specialized coagulation. Within research, activity was seasonally lower during the summer, primarily due to a lower level of instrument deliveries. Development in Eastern Europe remained strong, driven by solid underlying market growth and investments in advanced technology. Several new products were added to the portfolio during the quarter, including products within immunohematology and transfusion medicine, which are expected to contribute to further growth going forward.
The business in Southern Europe was strengthened through the acquisition of Unicam, a distributor of advanced laboratory equipment to universities, research institutes and industrial customers.
